The strory of chocolate

Do you like chocolate? I think most of people would answer "YES!". Of course I love chocolate!!! We eat an average nine kilograms of chocolate per person per year. That's about 180 chocolate bars each!!! I can not believe. However I think I eat chocolate more than average. If I tire to study and work part time job, I often eat chocolate. Sometimes I eat almond chocolate. I watched beauty television program before, there were "Almond made us beauty. If you feel hungry, you should eat almond. It was not make us fat. So I eat almond and chocolate when I feel hunger. I think I can eat favorite things, but we are not fat!!! Fabulous!!!
Do you know what is source. It is cocoa beans. Pods grow on the cacao trees and inside the pods are seeds called cocoa(KO-ko) beans. These coca beans are the magic ingredient in chocolate. In 1753, the Swedish scientist Linnaeus gave the cacao tree its scientific name, Theobroma cacao, meaning "food of the gods". It was well known that he liked chocolate!! I didn't know that.
In about four months, the cocoa pods grow to the size of melon. It takes another month before they are full ripe. Each pod contains about forty cocoa beans surrounded by by sticky white pulp. There are the precious beans that make chocolate.
Both the Mayans and Aztecs used cocoa beans to make a drink known as chocolatl. The beans were dried and crushed, and then mixed with water. The Mayans drank chocolatl hot, whilst the Aztecs drank it cold. They often added such as chilli or vanila. The taste must have been very bitter. In fact, the word chocolate is said to mean "bitter water". Chocolate was served on served on special occasions. The land where cacao trees grew became very valuable.
After that, in 1492, Christopher Columbus and his son found canoe which was ridden by mayans. Christopher Columbus familiarize it Spain and Europe.
By the 1650s, Europeans were drinking chocolate at fashionable cafes called chocolate houses. In 1660, Princess Maria Teresa of Spain married King LouisⅥⅤ of France. Maria Teresa liked chocolate so much that she had a special maid to make it for her. Soon, the rich French families began copying their new queen and likes the taste, too.
In 1765, the first American chocolate factory opened in Massachusetts, United Staid of America. In the 1840, the chocolate kinds of chocolate business boomed.
Today, there are many kinds of chocolate treats- bars, biscuits, cakes, ice cream and many others.
Before, I post blog , which title and content was "My favorite chocolate." I talked chocolate, which were "Baccas" and "Rummy" . However I like chocolate too much after I read the book. I didn't know many things. It was wrong to say I love chocolate, because I didn't know chocolate's history. But now, I know now!! The next time I buy a chocolate bar, read the label before making I choice where did it make. I think it is very different from chocolate made in Japan from another country. I like Japanese chocolate better than another country's chocolate. I took souvenir, which were chocolates. When I gave them chocolates, they were pleased. I was sure Japanese chocolate is very nice. So I'm proud of Japanese chocolate!! If you worry about souvenir, I recommend chocolates. There are many kinds of chocolate in stores, so you can choose many types of chocolate!! I gave normal chocolate, milk, bitter, white and including many tastes type and so on. It was cheep and delicious, I recommend it!!
